Had my second last paper today, EC2101, microeconomics analysis. Was not as bad as I thought, managed to do most of the question, so I dun think this can be regarded as a hard paper. Howeverm the thing with NUS is, if u think the paper wasn't hard, so do the rest of the world. And everyone will be able to do the paper, esp those P**... They will spoil the market, pull up the bell curve, increase the average score, and make normal pple like us look bad. Com'on, who in the right mind and normal social life would be able to spend so much time per day studying??? We have a life ok, and we wan to do wad we enjoy, and studying is definitely not one of them! They just hide in the room all day long and stare at either the notebook or notes, both are equally bad. I sometimes marvel at the self discipline that one need to be able to do that for the whole day. Yes, I am not joking. They do it for the WHOLE DAMN DAY. I cannot do that for even a straight 2 hours. Mind starts wondering off.

Last december, went back to MINDEF for my attachment, and my boss happens to be this guy who likes interacting with the younger generation i.e. pple like me. Somehow we started to talk about those P**, cos he was saying that he volunteered his home for some foreign student to stay, and act as their "parents" here, attending to their needs, bring them out for excursions and invite them for family dinner and stuff. Then me and this commando friend of mine who is also in NUS started complaining about these foreign students. "They pull up the bell curve!" "They dun do things in hall" "They smell and look disgusting" and yada yada... Then he said something that makes both of us look at this issue at a completely new perspective. "Now suppose u r on a scholarship and studying overseas. Your job is to study and get the best grade u can so that your scholarship will not be suspended. Wouldn't u have done the same thing? Studying is their job. It is your job too, but if u think enjoying your life is more important, then pls dun blame them for studying hard. Without people like them, do u think certificates issued by NUS will be so prestigious and be internationally recognized? It is precisely because they can do much better than local students on average that our government gave them scholarships to study here, to pull up the reputation and standard of NUS."

Come to think of it, he makes perfect sense. Singapore government always has some higher agenda when they do stuff. And in this case, it may really be to pull up the standard, I dunno, and I dun think I care. Cos wad I am concerned with are my grades, not some standard of NUS thingy... It does concern me in the future, call me myopic, short-sighted, wadever u like... But I think me, as well as the majority of the NUS student population, are concerned only with our bloody CAP score and nothing else. So at the end of the day, it makes no difference. I still hate them. Dun they have prestigious uni's over there? Y come here and flood our market, irritate pple like me, and as a result, get me to hate them and...

K. Enough of bitching about these pple. Highlight of the day: watched 8 below at eng wah suntec with sheryl ang, zhenzhen, and a new friend called marcus. Originally asked zz only, cos the whole NUS is having exams other than the M1's. In the end dunno y sheryl and marcus come to know about it. I am ok with sheryl la, as in, she is nice and I feel comfortable talking to her, so I really dun mind her coming along, but I cannot say the same thing to marcus. Saw his pic on zz's laptop, but today is the first time i saw him in person. Hard nut to crack. Tried to talk to him several times, but either met with a one sentence answer or just didnt manage to work. In the end sian le. I mean pls la, the things he talk about are all the high end stuff, that I dun even give a shit about cos I cannot afford them, or rather, I dun think I wanna spend money on them. Then no common topic. In the end know from zz that he is filthy rich la. Drive his own car to suntec to catch show somemore, when I am having problems with buying a bike. Haha, He is really out of my league la. In the end he left early, so left the 3 of us. Wah, the moment he walked away, he brought the load off my heart man. Now I can finally have freedom to talk to both zz and sheryl le. And run less risk of kenna ignored. The whole time he was talking to sheryl, while zz, trying not to make me feel out, made an obvious effort to keep talking to me. Haha. Really appreciate it. I do admit sheryl and marcus made me feel out, but sheryl doesn't. So the only prob lies with... ... ... ... ... me lor. :p Maybe I dun open up to new pple that much la, and unfortunately that may be the same with marcus as well. When u hv 2 pple who dun open up easily and u put them together, u get two dumb ass, or asses. And zz kept reminding me that I dun talk. Wah pls la. Tell that to pple like jason and yy and pc and hz and see how they will react. They will prob give a smile and "ya right" u.

Enough of the pple. The show was ok. Not really excellent like fearless, but ok la. 8 below. Abt this group of 8 sleigh dogs who were let behind in Antartica cos the place they were supposed to leave on was overloaded. Cannot carry alll of them. So they were left behind, despite objections from the guide, whose name I hv forgotten. Let's call him tom. Tom has this lady friend called jane who knows how to fly. She promised that she will get the dogs out as soon as she sent them back to base. However, ren suan bu ru tian suan. There is this major storm that is the worst in 25 years, and all flights in are to be cancelled. Jane cannot go back to get dogs, and tom sian. Tried to get pple to go back, even trying to hitch a ride in, but all to no avail. Then finally get to go back in August, for which he had left the dogs there for already like 7-8 months. Majority of the show is on how the dogs survived, and hunt for food, so not much dialogue. Producers are smart nowadays, filming dogs more than humans. Then they can pay less and cut cost of production. U dun bloody hv to pay dogs. Just give them some food to shut them up. In the end, only 6 out of the original 8 survived. One dog called jack (actual name from movie), who was also the oldest, refused to break away from the chain that tom used to tie them to. He just lie there and look super sian and then pass away peacefully. Another dog is stupid enough to stand at the edge of a cliff and when the ice broke, it fell down the cliff. Broke some legs and bones I think. Then also die. So left 6/8. Nice touching kind of show. If u r the kind who likes to be touched, u can either come to me or u can go and watch the show. Of course coming to me is the better option, since u dun hv to pay for tic and can get touched all u wan. But if think u r too rich and dunno where to spend your cash, go catch the movie then, cos I hate rich pple. Haha. Joking.

Next paper is on Tuesday, in 8 days time. That's y i dare to actually give myself a break and watch a movie all the way in town. Tmr still gotta meet hz for lunch and get my fearless dvd from holland v. Hope I am not wasting too much time.
